BORSATO BREAKS THE ICE
30-06-2010
In what was his first foray into the National Formula Ford Championship; Synergy Motorsport driver Stefan Borsato came away from the fourth round that was held recently at Darwin’s Hidden Valley Raceway up in the Northern Territory pleased with his efforts.

After having spent the past 18 months running in New South Wales and Victorian State Championship competition; the Snowy Mountains (NSW) based teenager took up the opportunity presented to him by the Synergy Motorsport to test the water in the National Championship and it was an experience that he thoroughly enjoyed.

“It was certainly a big step up for me from running state level competition and I was pleased to come away having achieved my goals of finishing all of my races and most importantly gaining more experience,” expressed the 17-year-old from Kalkite. “The National Championship is really tough in terms of the competition and also very professional in all aspects. Running with the Synergy Motorsport team was a big benefit too as it was great to be able to work with their full-time drivers and it certainly made the transformation a lot easier.”

In regards to the future, Borsato is aiming to contest further rounds of the National Championship this year in order to step full-time next year.

“It’d be great to be able to contest a few more rounds this year in the National Championship but that is going to all depend on sponsorship and work commitments,” he said. “Now that I’ve sampled what it’s like to run in the National Championship I’d love to do a few more rounds this year. The goal is to do the entire National Championship next year and hopefully we can make that happen.”

The fifth round of the National Formula Ford Championship is going to be held on the streets of Townsville up in North Queensland on the weekend of July 10 – 11. At this stage it is not confirmed whether or not Borsato will be on the grid.

Borsato would like to say a special thanks to Synergy Motorsport, Brunelli’s Cafe and Perisher for all their ongoing support in 2010.
