Young gun Victorian Formula Ford racer, Jesse Fenech, is ready to test his skills against the country’s best Formula Ford racers with confirmation that he will be entering the Winton round of the National Formula Ford Championship.
His entry comes after a successful hit out in last weekend’s Victorian State Racing Championship meeting at Phillip Island.
In perfect racing conditions, Jesse showed he was on the pace by qualifying on pole in his Kool Trailers sponsored Spectrum ahead of a mix of state and national level Formula Ford drivers. He followed up the pole position with convincing wins in the first two races but unfortunately was taken out in the triple point’s final race. Though Fenech managed to finish the race in 4th position, this was not good enough to win the round, ending in a disappointing 4th place.
Showing a maturity beyond his young years, Jesse took the disappointment in his stride but boosted by the confidence a strong performance in competitive racing provides.
Now Jesse’s sites are set on the upcoming Winton round of the Formula Ford Championship.
“In order to progress my motorsport career I am mindful of always pushing my limits and testing my skills against my peers. I have raced well at Winton before and have completed countless laps in testing so I am confident I will be pushing the pace along”, said Jesse.
Jesse will complete a test at Winton with his Borland Racing Development team prior to the event but in the meantime is working on securing ongoing sponsorship to assist in funding further national round events in 2010.
Jesse is proudly supported in 2010 by Kool Trailers and Borland Racing Developments.
