MOSTERT’S GOOD FORM CONTINUES
26-03-2010
A post qualifying penalty has handed Chaz Mostert pole position for Round 1 of the 2010 Genuine Ford Parts Australian Formula Ford Championship at Albert Park.

The Synergy Motorsport driver was consistently quick throughout the session in his Spectrum 012, which gave him second position. But a post-session penalty handed to Geoff Uhrhane elevated Mostert into first position.

Adam Graham was second fastest in his Mygale, three tenths down on Mostert, while Ryan Simpson was third in his Mygale.

“The car felt really good out there today and it’s pleasing to know that we have really good race pace,” Mostert said.

“It’s a little frustrating to get so close to pole, but it just make us work harder and hopefully we can come away with victory in the race.

“It’s not how you want to get pole, but we’ll take it this time round. I’m just looking forward to getting into the race.”

Geoff Uhrhane’s second best time was good enough for fourth, ahead of Nick Foster and Andre Borell. New Zealander Martin Short, Nicholas McBride, Nathan Morcom and Ash Walsh rounded out the top 10.

Race 1 of the Genuine Ford Parts Australian Formula Ford Championship gets underway at Albert Park at 12:10 (AEDST) on Saturday.
